Herts Young HomelessTake on the challenge and Wingwalk for Herts Young Homeless! Without the support from fantastic people like you, our work would not be possible, you are helping to make a huge difference to the lives of young, vulnerable people in Hertfordshire at risk of becoming homeless.
A roof over our heads, the support of a loving family and somewhere safe to come home to are all things most of us take for granted, but what if this isn’t the case? Where would you turn?
Every day young people in our community are homeless. Some of them are street homeless; the vast majority are ‘hidden homeless’. They might be sofa surfing, moving around from place to place, living in temporary accommodation such as a hostel, bed and breakfast or unsafe places such as cars or squats. Our mission is to support them into a secure situation and ensure that they do not return to the desperation of an uncertain future.
We believe the first stage in preventing youth homelessness is to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to prevent a crisis. We offer sessions that focus on the topics of homelessness, leaving home, independent living, managing conflict and healthy relationships. All the money you help us to raise will ensure we can continue providing the services to help young people in your local community.

Sarcoma UK is the national charity working to change that, by funding ground-breaking research, campaigning for better treatments, raising vital awareness and providing much needed support to anybody affected by the disease. Sarcoma UK has committed over £5million to over 70 research projects, in the continued search for more effective treatments and better outcomes for patients. Scottish Huntington's AssociationHuntington's disease is an incurable neurological condition with complex physical and mental symptoms. These include a deterioration in motor function which leads to reduced control over movement and a loss of ability to walk, talk, eat and swallow. The disease also causes mood and personality changes and, in some cases, serious psychiatric illness. As it progresses, people with Huntington's disease can require 24-hour care, meaning they are no longer able to stay in the family home with loved ones. To compound this devastating toll on families, each child of an HD parent is at 50% risk of inheriting the faulty gene that leads to HD. In Scotland today, there are 1100 people with Huntington's disease and a further 5000 people at risk. You can find out more here https://hdscotland.org/
